Updated on street count but not map

I uploaded a run today, and it updated my count of streets completed, but did not update the map. When I click on the activity, it says “there is no map associated with this activity”

You are not alone. I have the same issue.

Same thing happened to me

This usually happens around exceeding API limits - I get the activity itself, but I’m blocked from the individual GPS coordinates.
I’ll take a look when I get back to my computer today.

OK, I figured it out … and it shouldn’t be a huge issue to fix.
No data is lost or anything, I just need to update some columns. :+1:

Update: The issue should be solved out now.

The activity now has a map. Thanks. The life map and the city map are not updated yet.

I had the same problem with an activity today, May 23. The street count and activity map are updated, but not the life map.

It’s probably just a timing issue. I’ve noticed recently that activities and street counts update almost immediately but there is a delay before the activity appears on the map. Usually it appears within an hour; maybe the delay is longer for non-supporters.

One weird thing I’ve noticed is that activities appear on a map on a zoomed out view (where the scale is bar=2km) but when I zoom in it disappears for a while. That’s a short term thing, though.

Yeah, the LifeMap is rebuilt after activities are saved. There can be a delay in the queues that do that work. The Status page displays the current delays for Supporters and free accounts.
I don’t keep a very close eye on these delays, but it doesn’t seem like the Supporter queue grows over 30mins in the busiest periods and the free queue can grow to 2-3 hours.

There’s also some caching involved in this data…
The LifeMap data is spread over the globe in tiles - effectively squares of different sizes at different zoom levels.
When you are looking at your map, zooming/panning around, various tiles of data are loaded and cached for ~5 minutes or so.
If you view the map while your LifeMap hasn’t been rebuilt with the new activities, it’ll cache that view. If the LifeMap is then rebuilt and you e.g. zoom out a little where a new tile is loaded that does have that activity data, it’ll be shown as expected… but if you zoom back in to your previous view sometime during that cache period the activity can ‘disappear’ from the map.
