Mapbox is working on v3.1 right now, so I’d like to check if the issue persists in their first beta … If you have a moment to visit this v3.1.0-beta.1 page and testing whether it freezes, that would be a huge help for me.
These are the last stats I have on your device (for my own reference):
Thank you!
I appreciate all the effort you put into helping me figuring this out … well, by “me figuring this out” I mean “me waiting for the Mapbox team to fix a bug”
The next release will include the latest Mapbox version (but none of their design changes - that will stay the same). I’ll leave this as unresolved for a bit, just to make sure things are OK within CityStrides.
Hi James.
Unfortunately this problem has just appeared on my phone. The map with my routes shows up and after 1 or 2 seconds disappeares and there is blank area. And sometimes (not always) after reloading 2 error messages “Your browser cannot display the map. Please ensure WebGL2 is enabled or try a different browser” show up. Problem exists on 3 different browsers I have tried - Chrome, Firefox and Opera. Any ideas?
I think I’m seeing this in some cases as well … I’m guessing it’s a bug in the mapping software … I’m looking into things to see if I can pinpoint exactly what causes it (for example, viewing my individual activities is fine … but I’ve noticed it on one city page out of dozens so far)
Yes, it still occurs. But I have noticed that now in Firefox, one of my cities (Janowiec Wielkopolski) does not always disappear after 1 or 2 seconds, but sometimes the map remains generated and disappears only after trying to zoom in.
In Chrome it does not load properly. In Firefox the behavior is not deterministic. Sometimes it does not load at all. Sometimes it loads, but not fully - it this case the map is unresponsive. Sometimes it loads properly and I can move, zoom and even toggle/untoggle routes - but eventually, the map always disappears after a few actions.
I have the same dissappearing map issue when using my mobile phone and chrome and firefox. It has been happening since wednesday. It works fine on my laptop still.
If it does work as expected, where the page loads & the map displays, and you’re able to zoom/pan the map … Try toggling your LifeMap on and testing whether it continues to work as expected.
