Archived Synchronization Issues

Showed up today! Must be as you said - the recent surge in users. Love City Strides. Might go out for a run right now to bag some more streets.

James, the rest of my runs still never imported after about a week. Could you take a look when you get a chance?

Edit: Looks like they are importing now, woohoo!

Everything went right until the 29th today seems like it is overloaded.

For me it’s the same, last sunday s visible, the run from today is still not there

Now it has been synced.

There’s a club on Strava named Heatmappers Anonymous

Hi there,

I am connected to CityStrides through my Strava but my activities that are older than a month are not syncing. It’s been about ten days now.

Anything I should be doing different?

Thanks,
Lucas

Hi Lucas,

You shouldn’t need to do anything - the data should all eventually sync. I would expect it to take less than 10 days, though!

I’ll look into it and let you know what I find out.

My run of last night did not show up in the map or profile. Usually this is done automatically via runkeeper during the night. Any difficulties with runkeeper? Or am I doing something wrong?

Sorry for my late just realizing that the ‘general’ category wasn’t appearing my view of the forum!!! :confounded:

Sounds like things are going well now, but I might need to take a look into my sync code … I didn’t think it should take that long to get all your data over…

@JamesChevalier - hello, I linked up to my Strava account but only see 10 activities linked (since yesterday afternoon). I read a few threads that it sometimes takes time and other times manual intervention is needed. Is there something that would tell me that its still being processed or do I need to re-start the sync process for historical data (and how)?

Same issue. My new actiivities are getting picked up very fast, but my past activities stopped importing after 53 entries. I have attempted to log out and back in, even attempted to deauthorize the app and back in with no change.

For both @mtpenta & @pedro.vera … and others :flushed:
I’m running up against Strava’s limits right now, but I’m hoping that it settles down tonight/tomorrow. This is affecting logins as well as activity syncs.

For your old activities - it might be this limitation that I’m hitting, or it might be another limit causing older activities to sync into CityStrides slower … I’ve heard similar reports, but they ultimately resulted in all activities coming in…

Update
It looks like things are back to normal. I’d expect syncing to behave properly, so over the next 24hrs activities should fill in.

Do you have the ability to do manual imports? I wrote my own Strava app and I can easily pull all of my activities and dump into a JSON object.

James, if you want to test my exports, my app is at https://strava.pedrovera.com . I am the only one that uses it so you can use it for testing without hitting your own API limits.

Howdy all - I signed up ~ 2 weeks ago, and my Strava stuff only went back to about September. Reading through here… it looks like it should go all the way back. Let me know if there is anything I can do to assist. Thanks!

You can ignore my last one… it all seems to be creeping in now.

Hi James,

My old Strava activities still haven’t synced with City Strides… any idea why that would be?

Thanks for your help and great site!
Lucas

Hi James,

I really appreciate what you are creating here and I really enjoy this site. I visit it daily to see what has synced and what roads I have covered. A lot of my activities have synced but I’m still waiting for half of 2016 and all of 2015. I wanted to make sure it was still coming.

Thank you so much!
Chris

Hi,

I am having the same issue. Is there a way to import all my Strava data?

Thanks for your help.
