App and login?

Kind of a strange question. On one of my Android tablets I am unable to log in when using the app from the home screen. I know there’s not a true CS app but it must be a shortcut app perhaps? Not exactly sure how I got it there. I’m using a Chrome browser. When I try to log in from that tablet it says ‘could not authenticate you from Garmin due to “invalid credentials” ‘ This happens when I try to log in from the browser or that app/shortcut. The same login info I use elsewhere with success. Any ideas on why this might be happening? Is it limited to the number of devices it can be on?

 Are you able to log into Garmin Connect in your browser?
If you open a private browser window in a device that is working, are you able to log into CityStrides through Garmin in there? (I’m purposefully not asking you to log out of CityStrides and log back in, just in case this issue is more widespread than we’re seeing so far)
Is there anything on your Android that auto-fills web forms for you?

There’s no limit to the number of devices you can use.

As far as the “app” goes, that got there by choosing “Add to Home screen” from the three vertical dot menu in the browser.

I can’t tell you what a life-changer it was to add it as an ‘app’. Previously, I just had it as a tab in the stock Samsung browser; change to another tab or two and then go back and it refreshes, and if you’re in a remote area, it fails to load, or loads extremely slowly just as you need to know when to turn. As a standalone app (even if it is just a separate instance of the browser), this hardly ever happens.

I logged out of Garmin and out of City strides and was able to log into both using a private window or the standard Chrome window. I do not use a chrome auto fill but I do use LastPass which does autofill. I purposely chose to type in the email address and copy and paste the password. When using the homepage app I am able to log in with map my walk but not with Garmin. Previously I was always logging in with Garmin at least on other devices.

Thanks to your reminding me how I got the app there in the first place I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it came up already signed in. To test it I then signed out and signed in again with Garmin successfully. (Garmin does not ask for username and password a page just comes up to authorize). Seems like the problem solved itself somewhere along the way. Thank you for having me test it which apparently solved it
