Most login troubles revolve around stale data, or the presence of the PWA (the CityStrides site saved to your Home Screen, acting like an app). This set of steps usually sorts out any login troubles:
Do not revoke access from your tracking service
Revoking access will delete your CityStrides account and all its data
- Remove the ‘app’ from your Home Screen, if you have it added there
- iOS
- Long-press the CityStrides icon and choose “Delete Bookmark”
- Android
- Go into Settings → Apps
- Search “citystrides”
- Uninstall it if it’s present (if you know the exact action to take, please replace this with that description)
- iOS
- Ensure you’re logged out of the tracker’s website and CityStrides in the web browser
- Stay logged into the tracker’s app, you do not need to log out of that
- Visit https://citystrides.com and if you’re redirected to a profile page, choose ‘Sign Out’ from the top right menu
- Take similar steps for your tracking service’s website
- Clear the site data
- iOS
- Go into Settings → Apps → Safari → Advanced (all the way at the bottom) → Website Data
- Search “citystrides”
- Swipe the entry for
citystrides.comand tap Delete - Search for your tracker’s domain e.g. “garmin”
- Swipe the entry for e.g.
garmin.comand tap Delete

- Sign into your tracker’s website
- Take a moment to verify that you’re in the right account by viewing the list of activities and confirming that it’s the correct/expected list
- Sign into CityStrides via your tracker
- If you’re using Garmin, make sure you enable the ‘Historic’ toggle
- You can re-add CityStrides to your Home Screen now, if you’d like
