I’ll start this as a support request to check that I am doing things right and if I am it may become a request for a new feature.London has many small private streets, often former mews, that are gated and locked, i.e. there is no way to get into them. In these cases I mark them as manually completed and update OSM to show that they are private. I hope that is right. When I go back into CS later, two things look odd: often it asks me if I want to mark the road a completed manually (which I have already done) and the manually completed section has the usual red dots suggesting that I need to revisit the road.Is there an issue with the manually completed status and, if so, can I simply ignore requests to completed it again? Is there a way I can clear the red dots from the completed streets so that they do not appear on maps? If not then it would be helpful if they could be shown in a different colour to show that they are in a completed road.
If you mark the street as private in OSM, then that street should be dropped from CityStrides upon the next city sync. Then there ought to be no nodes of any kind, your manual completion won’t matter, etc. What you are observing is likely just a temporary limbo state.
Can you give an example of a street or two where you did this?
I tried to upload an example picture last time vut did not have the option; it’s there now but I am even more confused!
In double-checking everything I could not recreate the red dot for Filmer Mews in my LifeMap but I think that it must have been there earlier otherwise I would have had no need to look at the road, it is one I walked a few weeks ago.
I get the same thing with Caranday Villas, no red dots on LifeMap but shown if I go to the road (which I only did because I knew that it was one I had manually completed and updated on OSM).
I am more curious than worried about what is going on here. My main aim is to not get red dots in my LifeMap on roads I have completed and
Filmer Mews has an “Unmark as complete” button, which means you marked it as manually complete. Since it’s marked as complete, it will not appear via Node Hunter - completed streets do not have their incomplete nodes displayed.
