Random nodes showing as incomplete on completed roads

Some completed roads are showing as incomplete due to random nodes showing as incomplete. This has happened for two of my completed cities (City of London and Lewisham) and the % completed has also dropped below 100% as a result

Nodes subbenly appears in my city, on streets that are completed.

Not sure what is happening here. I looked at about half of these streets and I’ve completed at least 90% of the nodes for every one with most being 100% but there are red nodes on previously run areas. Example shown is Middle Street.

Same problem for me here. Lost about 100 streets for no good reason/

Hi there,
Same for me, I lost hundreds of complete streets after some city updates.
At least 5% of the city of Groningen. But I think I lost some more streets in other cities, I can not determine exactly where.

Hi there, same here for me, I think it appears in more cities than just this one, but this the major one where I lost ~10% progress of the city

I’ll be keeping this post up to date as I work through the issue. I’m marking this as the ā€˜solution’ so that it’s included in the top post.

I accidentally broke ~400 city syncs and I need to reprocess tons of data to get everyone’s progress fixed up. I’ll prioritize cities mentioned here, but everything will eventually get sorted out. There is no action required/possible for you to correct this. I’m purposefully skipping accounts that haven’t been logged into in the past month, to speed things up for people who actually use CityStrides. :+1:

If you would like your city prioritized, please share the link to the city (either your custom view or the plain city page, either works).

While I still have about 300 cities left to reprocess, I’ve made it through most of the shared cities in this thread.

I have some examples.

I ā€œlostā€ six previously completed cities yesterday. These are all the lowest level cities within Sydney (suburbs) and all are showing an update date of yesterday. I haven’t clicked through to all those that are still showing as complete, but for the handful I have glanced at, none were updated yesterday. I’ve also noticed a few others that were updated yesterday that I haven’t yet completed but where my percentage completion has decreased due to these random nodes showing as red.

Those I’ve lost include:

Example street: (one of five of 28 now showing as incomplete)

Another suburb: (the GPS on this one’s a bit messy because it’s an inner-city, built up area but everything had previously registered as complete)

Example street (one of ten out of 35 now showing as incomplete)

One more example suburb

And an example street (one of three out of 12 now showing as incomplete)

I was noticing the same with yesterday’s update of Kirklees: Kirklees, England - CityStrides

Aarhus, Denmark has the issue, too: Aarhus Kommune, Region Midtjylland - CityStrides

I don’t know if this is part of the same issue or something different, but I also have cities where there are lots of red nodes on streets that are still showing as complete. For example, Concord below. There are two streets that I genuinely haven’t completed (mostly a trunk road that I need to now get back to) but I am credited with 157 out of 159 streets completed here. But when I press ā€œnode hunterā€ I see lots of red nodes.

This suburb wasn’t updated yesterday. Maybe when it is next updated all those red nodes will turn into incomplete streets?

One example road (in case you can’t use node hunter on someone else’s account) is

But I estimate there are 20-30 streets in this suburb with red nodes despite the fact I’ve walked them all. The red nodes seem to fall into a few clusters rather than being evenly distributed across the suburb.

This isn’t unique to this suburb. It’s just one example.

Chiming in here. Santa Monica CA has suffered the same fate. And it prompted another post by me regarding ā€˜manually completing’ streets. Even if this one gets resolved, I’d love to understand what it means to manually complete in terms of our stats. We can solve that in the other thread, but wanted to add the city above to the list, James.

This situation is the same in Saint Louis, MO as well. My % complete for the city went from almost 50% to 25% Many of the streets that I have completed already are showing as incomplete.
Buena Vista for example: Kelly's activity on June 8, 2025 - CityStrides

Liberty street is another: Kelly's activity on August 1, 2025 - CityStrides

I’ve lost around 30 per cent of my completed streets in the City of London . Last week I had 7 to complete which I think took me to 93% and now I’m back down at 66%.

@JamesChevalier I know you’re actively working on this - but wanted to chime in Bronx, New York is another city that needs fixing. I lost 400 streets

Hello. After an update in Amersfoort, Netherlands, about 800 streets I've walked have disappeared. According to the map, there are still junctions where I've walked multiple times. Can anyone help me with this?

Kind regards, Bert de Wit

Hoi Bert, this is the same issue as discussed here: Random nodes showing as incomplete on completed roads - #13 by kheldridge

@JamesChevalier Please check.

Hi James,

I saw you fixed the cities of Groningen and Arnhem already. Thanks.

Still seeing the same issue in Den Haag Tim Van is running Den Haag, Zuid-Holland - CityStrides. For example:

Hi James, I have two cities that need fixing. They don’t necessarily need to be prioritized , I just want to make sure you’re aware of them

Thanks!

Denver Colorado as well! Thanks Denver, Colorado - CityStrides
