OSM Syncing Timing Issue

I just edited some streets in OSM (thanks for the guide just_one_more_street!), and then waited a while, and checked the query in overpass. Everything in overpass looked correct, so I went over to CS and clicked the sync button on my town/city. It took about 15 minutes and lots of changes synced, but my edits did not. Do I try again tomorrow, or is there something I missed here?

The edits were segmenting two streets, marking the off-limits part as private, and a third street I marked fully as private (it’s actually a driveway).

As a second comment, it looks like some OSM users have also added several private streets. Anyone have comments on how to handle this? I don’t want to get into an edit war with other OSM users. Our state has some pretty clear rules on private streets, and while there are many already swept into CS, I don’t want to have to go back and complete small streets that were previously not included in the list.

Had the same issue and asked: Message #12065 by JamesChevalier – #Water Station

A bit out of my depth here, but the OSM data that goes into city updates no longer comes directly from Overpass in real time, instead James pulls it once per 24 hours so if I think it’s safest to wait a day after OSM updates before syncing your city to ensure your edits make it into CityStrides.

Yeah, my specific source is the PBF from Open Planet Data and my code runs a few hours after the time listed on their page.

Awesome, thanks! I synced today and all the updates were there. I’ll wait 2-3 days next time to make sure I only sync when there’s updates.
