Hans, there is an issue with Kastanjedreef, Hoogstraten, Belgium. The last node in the road is a problem. It’s right next to the federal prison fence, and it’s difficult to reach (and I didn’t want to alarm the guards by approaching the fence).
The prison is blurred on google maps (understandable). I don’t know if it’s a good idea to put a node so close to a prison fence. We turned around. Maybe remove the last node?
Does it disappear when you set to private? I made updates of another and set to private, which is the most logical option, but the nodes stll exist after teh maps update. So I have updated to “no” for walking instead of “private”
The visual map you see updates on a different schedule from the nodes in Citystrides, which could have led to your confusion. For Citystrides, go to the city page in CS and check the last time the city’s nodes were updated in the metadata in the top/top left. private will indeed make the nodes disappear from CS, but the update can take a while to propagate to CS.
Note that private and no have two distinct meanings in OSM and you should not swap them around just for CS.
