New streets added to city--how to tell which they are?

tl;dr: how can you figure out which nodes are the newest-added to your town?

Long version: First, some admissions because this is a safe place: I’m not a good or fast or long runner, but I track my progress obsessively because it’s something to do. I have a separate excel spreadsheet that calculates how many streets the the next person, etc. (I’m third in the city, for what it’s worth.)

Today, I went to add my new streets and the numbers were off–I’ve figured out that seven new streets were “added” to my city. Given how I track, I know that I’ve already hit some of these “new” streets because my total street count went up by more than what I earned today, and the #2 person’s total percentage went down since I last tracked.

I found this thread; I was wondering if there is any new info around this. I have now subscribed to my city!

Yeah, enabling notifications for the city/cities is the way to keep track.

For anyone unaware, the notification settings includes the ability to select individual cities for updates when they’re synced from OSM.

Regarding your spreadsheet that calculates how many completed streets there are between you and the next person, I’m wondering how the user list falls short for you. Under the progress bar, it displays your city rank then the number of completed streets in the city then the percentage value (private users have the same stats in a different order).
Is it just doing that math for you?
When I hear “I keep a spreadsheet” I have internal alarm bells going off and I think “CityStrides should be doing that for you”

Same - that’s kind of how CityStrides came to be … I knew I wasn’t going to run the longest/fastest/etc, so I thought of another goal.

Thanks so much, James!

I’m wondering how the user list falls short for you.

It doesn’t, really! I just liked having all my info on one page, and have it auto-calculate how many streets I have to catch the next person. And I think I started it before I found the graphing/charting feature in CityStrides. The sheet also tracks my global rank over time because I find it satisfying to look back and see how far that’s come too. Here’s the link.
