I just released a minor update that lets you connect your Twitter account to share your progress. You can get to it in your Settings page (the link is in the gear menu in the top right of http://citystrides.com).
This will only share your progress in your default city. It will also only send out an update a maximum of once per day. The milestone it’s sharing is for each 5% you complete (5%, 10%, 15%, etc).
I have a feeling there’s a lot more I can do here, and stuff that I can do better. Let me know what you think, as you use it. Some ideas off the top of my head:
- Enable/disable cities to be shared (so it’s not just the default city)
- Opt-out of automatic updates, but still allow manual progress sharing through a button on the site
- Other announcements beyond city progress, like street completions (although I’m worried that this would be way too many tweets).
Facebook is on the way, too. They require a lot more setup than Twitter does, so that’s taking me longer.
