Manchester was updated overnight and all streets have been deleted

And my total has dropped by over 2000.

That spinning arrow thing next to the date indicates that the update is still ongoing.

Something about this update caused the system to see all the streets as removed, and then - later in the process - see all the streets as needing to be added. While the count is displaying 0, the street/node records are present (and verifiably all created on the 27th). Your progress/stats will return as the “new” data is reprocessed.

I’ve paused all city updates, just in case, and I’ll need to look into why this happened.

For general city updates, no. For “wtf” scenarios like this, yeah.

Typical city updates run on the scale of minutes. Really big cities with lots of updates can span hours.
This is super weird - data being fully deleted and recreated - it’s akin to adding the city brand new. That can take many many hours (up to the scale of days) to fully process the data.

Everything’s back up except my score in the challenge ‘2024 in 2024’. That’s saying I’ve only done 500ish when I was on about 2500.

Not a biggie in the grand scheme of things just a bit weird.

Oh, thanks for bringing this up … I don’t have the city update process touch challenges (yet). I’ll need to manually send that in for reprocessing.
Can you share the link to the Challenge so I can do that? (It’s ok if it’s private, no need to adjust anything at all.)

Thanks! You should be all set now.
After reprocessing your account, I realized I probably needed to reprocess others … Hadn’t occurred to me in the moment to grab all the User records for people in Manchester, collect their Challenges, and reprocess everyone in bulk.

Hello James, sorry to jump in on this, looks like the same thing has happened to Chelmsford, UK too? I’ve lost over a 1000 streets and gone down in the rankings. I had an email update to say 2078 Deleted Streets on 27th September.

The sync is already bringing in streets, but I do expect the processing to take a while. Sorry for the trouble.

Just in case, I sent the 5 other cities without streets that were also updated on the 27th in for a sync…
