Malmö/Sweden: Help with OpenStreetMap nodes

Hello,
I am striding Malmö/Sweden and above 90% done. However, in the current state, the city cannot be completed because several streets are not accessible to the public due to;

  • Entire street is within a fenced industrial area.
  • End node of a street is within a fenced industrial area.
  • Planned street in an area being built-up, hence no access.
  • The closest nodes to e.g. a roundabout connecting to a Motorway, or a motorway entry/exit are not accessible.

I have several such streets and I would request someone to help me make updtes in the OpenStreetMap where this is possible.

It’s always best if the person with local knowledge makes the OSM updates. It’s not really very difficult, have you seen this article? OSM Basics

@hans1 I will look at it. Is OSM community maintained? In that case I could contribute as a city strider knows the details and “catches” of some of these stubborn streets.

Yes, it’s all community driven, anyone who spots something can update. I have discovered hundreds of errors and fixed them while CityStriding. Just be aware that many application use OSM, so be careful. If you have questions on how to do some changes, just ask here, we are many who can help with details

@hans1 Thanks alot. I am already making the changes and its progressing well. No bulk updates, only one road at a time and a suitable comment. Its the split that took a few minutes to find, but I did find it.

And because I have the biggest stride coverage in Malmö (currently 90%) and aim was all nodes, I have had my thoughts for a long time.
