Little bug, I think: When I switch to satellite view, the LifeMap overlay disappears, and there’s nothing I can do to get it back, it seems, except to click on my profile → LifeMap again.
Yeah, I’ve got that one in my to-do list. 
That switch to/from satellite view is a full map reset, so I lose the layers in the process.
I think I just figured out a way to fix it, though.
