Oooooooohhhh - I feel like I should type really quietly in case the Gremlins hear and I jinx it, but I’m looking at my life map on my phone at the moment which is the first time I’ve been able to have it up for more than a couple of seconds since it all went wonk. I’ve zoomed in and out too and all looks ok and on the laptop my lines look happy and normal and not jagged or thick and blurry like they were. Oh and the dates have come back on mouse over as well.
The jagged lines issue is gone for me. I noticed the lifemap has slightly less detail at higher level zooms than before, but it’s a marginal difference. Thanks again for all the hard work!
This one almost broke me … that was a rough week.
I’m still fully confused about how any of these LifeMaps ever worked, based on the solution. After my work this week, I can’t understand how this hasn’t been broken since October 27.
Yeah, the core issue for the LifeMap crashes seemed to be that the browser couldn’t handle so many drawn lines at lower zooms. I had to add a simplification call before sending the data over.
The jagged lines seemed to be caused by a combination of the database configuration getting blown away during the change on Jan 1 and the query not being as optimized as it could be.
