I’ve recently onboarded a few friends to CS and none of them can see my activity. They are getting the ‘…has not run at all or is not sharing their activity’ message when checking my profile page (link below). I have my CS Privacy setting set to ‘Everyone’ and don’t see where else I can manage access to my activity. What could I be doing wrong?
Strava recently changed their terms ( https://communityhub.strava.com/developers-api-7/api-agreement-update-how-data-appears-on-3rd-party-apps-7636 ) to block third party apps like CityStrides from sharing data to anyone other than the data owner.
I’d recommend that you all send/accept friend requests to each other. This will place each other in your friends tab (the two-person icon, next to the globe icon). In that view, you can keep up each other’s progress.
You can click the avatar for your friend, and it’ll show their default city progress as well as recently completed street info.
I’m pretty busy with an ongoing project, but I do intend to rework the profile page to push the full activity list (currently the default tab) off into a secondary tab & rework the default tab to be more of a current stats / recent progress view.
Thanks James - does the same hold true if using another app, say Map My Fitness?
No, Strava is the only service that blocks this sharing.
