My homepage shows that the strider with the most streets completed this week has just under 400, when adding streets from their profile page the sum is “only” 174 (still ludicrous! 
).
My suspicion is that there is some double counting of streets in nested cities involved. Maybe something to investigate as part of the homepage redesign…
