I’m doing a bit of reflection on what I’ve accomplished over the past year, specifically with my progress in CityStrides. Do we hold historical data of any sort? Specifically, is it possible to know how much progress (streets, cities, countries) we had accomplished on a date in the past? If so, is there an ability to download this in bulk?
Don’t know if that’s exactly what you’re after, but I made up challenges, like one for each year, then I can see how much I ran in, say 2022
Yeah, those are great - but I can’t go back and see what I ran in 2022 at this point unless I participated in that challenge, right?
There’s Extra Stats Supporter Feature - CityStrides which will display completed street count over time, with the option of switching it to a cumulative view.
It sounds like there’s an opportunity to expand this in a few ways:
- As a city-specific chart that shows all the same stats, but just for data that relates to the specific city
- Expanding out the stats to include city/country numbers
- Probably some other stats that I’m not thinking of
Regarding the challenge idea that Hans brought up - the idea is that you create a new private challenge for yourself with a specific date range. This will automatically process all your data in that date range, to give you a view of what you accomplished then.
This is great and I hadn’t seen it prior, so thank you for sharing. Is there any way to download a time frame without additional effort on your side?
Also - perhaps totally not possible, but do you record our overall rank on a daily basis so that we can see where we ranked on a given day in the past?
I love the expansion ideas if easy to implement.
No, extra downloads would be additional work for me to build.
I don’t. The ranking is more of a snapshot as things currently exist.
I think the city-specific charting should be “easy” enough, and it’s something I’ve been meaning to do…
That and also getting more of these stats into the challenge pages…
There’s always more to do
