Croslands Avenue, LB of Ealing

Not sure how much of a problem this is but I thought that I would mention it just in case it is a symptom of something that matters.

I visited friends on Boxing Day and they recently moved to s street that I had only walked along one end of before, Crosslands Avenue, so I was looking forward to walking all of it and also the road off it, Arran Mews. Along the way I also cleared some red dots on Gunnesbury Avenue.

This is the entry in CS Matthew Rees's activity on December 26, 2025 - CityStrides

On completing the walk I was surprised to see just 1 street completed, Arran Mews, and none progressed. I could see that Arran Mews was the only one completed within Greater London but could not see why Crosslands and Gnnesbury Avenue were wither completed or progressed.

So I had a look at the city listings, starting with Ealing Matthew Rees is running London Borough of Ealing, England - CityStrides . I looked for Crosslands Avenue but it could not be found. A simpler search for just β€œCross” found two other (unwalked) roads in Ealing but not Crosslands Avenue. Similarly, Gunnesbury produces no results.

I cannot find either road in Greater London either Matthew Rees is running Greater London, England - CityStrides

I have had a look at Open Street Map in case there was an issue there but both roads are there and marked as accessible.

I am not sure what is going on and less sure if I should worry about it but I thought that you should know.

This is a bit awkward for nested cities like London. The number 1 for completed only refers to streets completed in the parent city. As you can see in the listing below Crosslands was indeed completed for Ealing. But not for Greater London, as there is also one in Hounslow.

Regarding you not finding Crossland, you have two street listings on a city page, first incomplete streets, the completed. You have to search in both of them

Thanks. I worked all of my career, 40+ years, in Data Processing (as it was called then!) and data interests me greatly, hence the nerdy questions.

On further analysis, I see that progress on Gunnesbury Avenue was not recorded this time because I had already completed it (back in 2024) and the several new red dots there, which I made a point of covering this time, did not change the completed status so I cleared some red dots (always good to do to make the map easier to use) but made to progress on the road. I am happy with that.
