I need to update my email adress with Strava. Would that create a new user in citystrides once I log in with my new email adress? Is there anything I need to do here or keep in mind? I have quite a few runs and want to avoid duplicate users.
You’re safe to change your email address in Strava and in CityStrides in Settings. Doing this won’t create new accounts.
Accounts are tied to tracking services via internal IDs - nothing we have control over - so changing emails is fine.
Emails do have to be unique in CityStrides (and likely tracking services as well), so if you ever get an error about not being able to set an email it’s because you have another CityStrides account. If that happens, I can likely merge them.
