Amphitheatre has nodes

In Ferntree Gully, Victoria, Australia (Ferntree Gully, Victoria - CityStrides) there is a park with an amphitheatre which is showing with nodes.

I know I could just go walk them, but I feel like the amphitheatre probably shouldn’t be shown as a street to walk/run. What would be the correct way to fix this up? These should be the last nodes I need to complete this city.

I believe the reason it is appearing in CityStrides is that it has been tagged with “highway=pedestrian”. The description of this tag is " … a road or area designated mainly or exclusively for pedestrians. Often found in shopping areas, town centres, places with tourism attractions and recreation/civic areas, where wide expanses of hard surface are provided for pedestrians to walk."

I expect these are deliberately brought into CityStrides, and seems to be appropriate in this case.

Here’s the street (twice in CityStrides due to nested cities)…

This highway=pedestrian topic has come up a few times:

This is one of those “someone will be upset” problems where, whatever I do or do not do, I will upset someone.

Ooh, in this specific case I could exclude amenity=theatre … perhaps expand it out a bit more by ignoring the amenity tag altogether … For the next release I’ll add theatre to the list of excluded amenity tags.
I think it’s been mentioned in one of those threads as well, but there’s also the possibility of ignoring all area=yes Way records - though I don’t know how much that would affect things around the world.
