AI private striders?

Does City Strides use fake private strider accounts to motivate people to keep running?? Im currently in 1st place in a city, and for the past month as i do a run, the private strider in 2nd place updates with a run that is within a street or two of my own. It happens the minute that my run updates too. Its too coincidental over a long period of time to not be something.

Nah, no AI and no gamey trash like that.

It sounds like you might have accidentally created two CityStrides accounts. I see Mark Lamont - CityStrides is connected to Garmin & MapMyFitness … and then I see one other Mark Lamont in CityStrides - Mark Lamont - CityStrides - which is connected to Strava - Mark Lamont | Strava Cyclist Profile

The Strava account is public, and I see its from Annapolis & its most recent activity (almost) perfectly matches yours (its start is a little different ).
If there’s unique data in that Strava account that isn’t in your Garmin / MapMyFitness accounts, then I can merge them … if it’s all the same data from e.g. Garmin, then you could revoke access to delete it.

To revoke access from Strava and delete that account’s data in CityStrides:

Remember: Revoking access from your tracking service will result in all of your data in CityStrides being deleted … do not revoke access unless you want to leave CityStrides
