Suunto integration

Not really an “idea” because I’m going to do this.

I need a place to gather people who would be interested in being testers. So, reply here with your profile link if you are a Suunto user and would be willing to test out the connection.

Testing will probably be three parts:

  1. Account connection / logging in
  2. Ongoing (new activity) syncing
  3. History syncing

I have no idea how to give you my Suunto profile link. If I log in to suunto it takes me to that stupid Moves Count site that seems to have been abandoned by Suunto and doesn’t link to my activities

Not yet. I have login capability, but nothing on the activity-sync front. Hopefully soon!

Well I now have a LOT of time on my hands given I’ve ‘done’ Plymouth, so if you’re wanting to press ahead with Suunto integration I can do plenty of testing

This is ready for testing … I’ll be messaging people soon - not sure if I’ll get to it this weekend, but definitely at the start of next week.

I’ve been testing with a number of people, and things seem to be working well. This has now been abled site-wide.

If you’re an existing user looking to add your Suunto to your CityStrides account:

  • Visit the Activity Trackers section of your Settings page
  • Click the Connect button next to the Suunto logo
  • Wait for your Suunto activities to sync into CityStrides
  • Click the Pause Syncing button for the service(s) you no longer use

If you’re somehow not a CityStrides member and are reading this, you can now log in via Suunto from the Sign In and Sign Up pages (they both do the exact same thing, it doesn’t matter which page you use).
