Streets with zero length

Hi James, I have a question about the a street in my home town of Rotterdam.
The Poortugaalstraat has a single node which is just captured within the city boundaries, but the remainder of street is completely outside so it has zero length:

In the spirit of CityStrides I’ll happily “suck it up” and go collect that 1 pesky node, just wondering whether this is the intended behavior?

These are the best streets

If Poortugaalseweg actually exists in Rotterdam, then you have a fun run ahead of you.

If OpenStreetMap is incorrectly mapped in a way that accidentally includes Poortugaalseweg when it shouldn’t, then someone can adjust the border in OSM to exclude it from Rotterdam.

I’ve come across this a number of times, and the fix is usually a fairly simple action of dragging one node a little bit so the border is just on the other side of the street’s node … and in my edit comment I include a note along the lines of “Poortugaalseweg is not in Rotterdam it is in Albrandswaard”. I try to take care of not affecting any other aspects of the overall OSM map for these minor edits, but that doesn’t seem to be a danger here.

Thank you for the advice! I suspect the road might have been broken up a long time ago because of the A road that crosses it. “Poortugaalseweg” would indicate that it is the street from Rotterdam to Poortugaal. Sadly that is not the case at all :squinting_face_with_tongue:
