Is there a way to export uncompleted node coordinates for a specified route? I’m working on a few ways to optimize my routes and there are a few tools that can do that well, but it would require the node coordinates in order to do so. I can go into more detail about the workflow if interested, but the goal is to develop routes that are the most efficient for covering specific areas.
Figured I’d move this into Ideas since it’s a new feature request.
Each route does have a GPX download - it’s in the vertical three dot menu. You can extract the coordinates from that file.
I’m not sure that this is what you’re really looking for, though, unless you are building routes node by node as opposed to intermittently clicking & letting the auto-route get you from point to point.
I’d suggest voting on Automatically Generate Routes since that idea originally got shot down as something people didn’t want … but lately I’ve heard more requests for it or something like it.
I don’t know how far in you plan on going, but I’d also recommend not obsessing over route efficiency. Overly efficient routes can get silly complex in a way that cannot be fun to run.
Thanks James - I use the node hunter obsessively and love it. For me, I am in Los Angeles and often travel to other cities with dense grids, and simply would like to find better ways of routing than with my own planning. I am 100% certain I could be doing it more efficiently. And in the end, I want to complete nodes, so I was thinking getting that data would allow me to use some other platforms that do routing optimization, and then bring that back into CS as my refined route. I’ll jump over to the other thread!
