When I lived in Boston I used the citybikes to save my legs a bit, was very useful because of being able to make 1-way trips.
Going out on a,limb here, but this is the least important feature to me, but fill your boots if it’s what you are into👍
I have rank 16 now with roughly 7500 streets. But if it would be 6 or 600 i don’t mind. I have the personal challenge of completing my prefered city (and soon finishing it and starting the next city) And the rank is not my goal in any way. I just like seeing my lifemap coverage grow
As of today’s run, I just got to 98th with 4423 streets so I can say that currently, the threshold to reaching top-100 is somewhere around ~4400 streets
Also, I have no problem saying that I too enjoy cultivating my own cool lifemap, and challenging myself on my city/surrounding areas, but also like watching my global ranking climb! Nothing wrong with competing, especially in an abstract endeavor with zero stakes
Very clever!
I clicked around in some cities looking for some people with higher streets than mine and ended up with the following list, accurate as of today. In case someone else is interested

List is of course limited to those people I happened to stumble upon.
So my list:
2195 - 86 - 20
Puts me way down on the list of streets and cities, but high on countries😁
Crazy that the top 2 are so close to one another! Must be difficult for them to find new streets to run.
If you want to add to your list, I am #413, 2746/20/3.
Thanks for putting it together, @ward_muylaert
Yay, that’s me all the way down at 71st place. Only run in USA, Portugal, and Greece. Wish I brought my running shoes with me more often during my past travels!
Since ten years I always run in every country I visit, actually I have GPS runs in 29 countries, but some are not in CS, like Trinidad and Sri Lanka. Last country I visited without running was Austria in 2011
But only 20 in CS, Some cities where i have no completed streets as well, only progressed… If I had known about CS ten years ago I would have made sure to run a couple of complete streets in every city! My total country list is 92, but there was no GPS at the time I was travelling in my youth. And I didn’t run so much in those days…
That’s some dedication! I’ve poked around the user list looking for some high scores, how do you do it with cities?
Also, currently hold the #3 spot with just one country and under 100 cities, I see some of these other travelers and want to know what that kind of life is like!
My assumption was that bigger cities would have a lot of good striders because (a) a lot of streets and (b) more densely packed together (especially so in European ones). (c) Also more likely that an ardent citystrider would go out of their way to mark a bunch of streets off the list if they pass through a big city for some trip. I thought about the regular users page, but I thought selecting on big cities would get me to the bigger names more quickly. Evidently it led to me missing out on you though
So I clicked through the striders pages of some cities and kept note of the user ids of the striders with a lot of streets. I’ll admit I clicked pretty far in some cities, was just doing it largely afk while watching a tour de france stage.
Finally I already had a little script that I use to compare with some friends for our friendly competition, so I threw the gathered ids through that as well to get the final list. Then I got rid of the names before posting here because I was not sure how anonymous all those people might want to be.
Just a little update: as of today November 21, 2021, 3000 streets is good for 422nd place on the leaderboard. I’ve been as high as 390 so there are still a lot of highly active folks piling up streets!
I can add a data point: 4000 is good for 202nd place
In about 4.5 months I’ve ascended to 6568 streets, 32nd place. There was a big gap for me getting past 37th place, from about 6000 to 6500 streets, a few weeks maybe even a month of watching my count climb and my rank stay static!
It seems Leaderboard is “working” right now, but don’t tell anyone, it’s a secret
I finally broke into the 99th percentile!
Of course, the fantastic growth of the number of Striders has helped. The 40,000 mark was just passed. Just a few months ago, I would have needed to be in the top 300, rather than the top 400, to make the 99th percentile.
Honestly, yes please don’t tell anyone because the current version spits out 3mb of data every time you touch the country/region/state filter
I have a fix that I haven’t been able to release yet … once that’s out, it will also appear in the top left menu
