He uses the app Citystrides, which maps the runs. He likes the idea of running in different municipalities. It started as a way to discover more of his hometown Malmö.
– Every time I run in a new area, it’s really nice. The country roads can be tough, but I usually take them quite early in the morning. When I see the sunrise, it’s really beautiful.
Joseph Mukama started running in 2017. He has lived in Malmö since 2019.
In 2024, he covered all the streets of Malmö in about six months. The next challenge was Burlöv. The streets of Staffanstorp went faster than he had expected, a couple of months less than Malmö.
Joseph Mukama’s goal is to run through the streets of all the municipalities around Malmö.
After Staffanstorp, it’s time for the streets of Svedala, something he actually started with before he was completely finished with Staffanstorp.
– I’ve already run a bit in Svedala this morning, he says and laughs.
– It’s really beautiful in Svedala. They have avenues and winding roads.
Maybe it’ll be Lomma after that. But someone else has already been first to run on all the streets there, so Joseph Mukama hasn’t decided yet.
