I often have some pretty crazy geometries when walking the hills of Los Angeles. Attached is a route I am planning on taking, and while I understood it when I plotted it, that was over a month ago, and you can see it has a lot of cross-over.
Is there a way to ‘play’ the planned route as a preview, like we can with completed routes?
Sadly, I can’t find a way to play a planned, nor completed route in GPX Studio. I don’t know if they eliminated that functionality or if its something I’m missing.
Play may not be the correct term, but if you upload the gpx, make sure it’s selected, click at the bottom elevation bar, and you can drag the cursor horisontally, and follow the icon on the route.
Henrik — I was just about to post to you that I found the exact tool you just showed me. This is all I needed and will make a huge difference on the denser routes I’ve plotted. Thanks a ton.
James - is there any way to PreRun? Essentially animate at, a fixed rate, say, 4mph (not important as a value, just to give a way to show progress) a marker to show the route you’ve plotted? I may have asked this in a few other threads but not with this approach. It would be so helpful on dense city grids - especially for those of us that walk and may have more turns than a runner.
It sounds like you’re asking for a ReRun capability on the route pages, from Route Builder?
That doesn’t exist yet, but it’s a solid idea.
Let me know if I’m misunderstanding…
That is exactly it, James - to preview routes that we’ve designed. This would come in super-handy in dense cities that have routes that crossover themselves while completing them. Possible?
