“Accidental” Runner
Short story is that I started losing weight when I started kung-fu. I took notice and asked myself what would happen if I focused on improving my weight. I saw a dietician who instructed me to do HIIT training. I asked what that was and she said, “Running intervals.” I laughed and said I didn’t run! I got focused, VERY focused. I lost over 60 pounds.
Fast forward about 5 years, I ran my first half marathon! Since then an injury and COVID restrictions slowed me down and I’m currently working to re-gain what I once had in speed and endurance, using CityStrides to make my runs more interesting.
