I’m from Richland, Washington, USA originally. I have lived in Kirkland, Washington; Cheney, Washington; Thibodaux, Louisiana; and Bemidji, Minnesota, in addition to my current town of Fosston. I am a lifelong runner, with ups and downs in there that most of us have. I competed in my first road race at age 6, and was a competitive cross country and track & field athlete in high school and college. Some highlights including making it to State in cross country in 1996 and 1998, winning the Prosser Invitational in cross country in 1998, earning a scholarship to Northwest College, competing in the NCCAA National Championships in cross country in 1999, competing in the NCAA West Regional Cross Country Championships in 2001, competing in the USATF National Cross Country Championships in 2005, winning the Cable Bridge Run 5K twice, finishing 2nd in the Blue Ox Marathon in 2015 and qualifying for Boston Marathon, and competing in the Boston Marathon in 2017.

I have coached cross country and track & field at the high school and collegiate levels including NCAA Division I Nicholls State University and Division II Bemidji State University. I have officiated cross country and track & field for many years starting in 2007.

I have been a high school special education teacher and am currently a substitute teacher, which I enjoy.
