There are a few independent living retirement villages near me that are tagged with access=destination in OpenStreetMap. These currently show up with nodes in CS as the streets within the villages are named.
Would it be possible to get the filter updated to exclude these, or would it be better to update OSM to make them access=private instead? According to the OSM wiki that should still allow routing for deliveries, visitors, etc.
If visitors are allowed, you could run it, right?
I’m sure I probably could and likely wouldn’t be challenged, but I’m trying to avoid trespassing. One of them definitely has signage up indicating private property. Another it appears there used to be signage indicating private road (visible on streetview) but that has been replaced with a no through road sign now.
I’d also like to make sure the map is accurate. I’m leaning towards updating them to be access=private as that would seem to make sense from an OSM point of view. They’re not really public roads, they’re for residents and guests. This is basically Australia’s version of a gated community.
