Newbie Question

I couldn’t find an answer by searching but I’m technologically challenged. I ran a newly built neighborhood today. It still shows up as a field on the CityStrides map. When those roads are eventually added to the map do I automatically get credit for them?

Eh, searching is pretty tough in the forum - no fault on you for not finding something.

If the city exists in CityStrides, then your progress will be calculated. You can check from the Cities page that’s linked in the top left menu. If it’s a very common city name, that can be a tough list to navigate … You can also use the links on the top of other nearby city pages - the country name and region name on those pages are links to their pages & you can do all sorts of searching from there.

The activity itself - on your profile page - will show counts for progressed/completed streets. You can go into the activity to see those listed out. From those lists, you can either toggle them on/off on the map, or you can click their ‘Go’ button to visit their page … from there you can navigate up to their city/region/country pages.

As far as your LifeMap is concerned, that’s built separately. Supporters have basically no delay (I’ve seen it reach 5 minutes from time to time), and non-supporters have a varying delay. I usually see it at about 30 minutes in the morning, and it can climb to up to 6 hours by evening (all Eastern Time).

Let me know if you have any questions or issues.

I’m not even sure if that answers my question. The city exists, the roads do not, because they are newly built. Even Google maps doesn’t have an updated view of this brand new neighborhood. Google maps does show the streets, although only one had a name when the streets were added to Google maps. This area is full of houses now, and phase 2 of the neighborhood will soon have roads built. I’m trying to figure out if I will have to run this area a second time for credit once the roads are officially added to the city street count.

I’m pretty sure you won’t have to complete them again. I just added the new roads to OpenStreetMap so next time it syncs up you should have a few extra roads done.
