Santa Monica CA had a big update yesterday. I lost 55 streets. Fun.
When looking at the map, the nodes that are showing as incomplete were 100% on paths I’ve taken and documented. Not sure why that is, but that is another topic for another day.
I went ahead and used the ‘Manually Complete’ functionality to correct those as I don’t intend to rewalk those segments. Nothing changed on my streets completed to reflect the update.
My question is - does ‘manually completing’ streets not count toward completed streets in our ‘Streets’ category?! If not, I’ve likely lost hundreds of streets in my journey as some streets will simply have a node that GPS doesn’t pick up due to a signal glitch or inaccurate tracking.
Thanks in advance.
You likely “lost” streets due to Random nodes showing as incomplete on completed roads - #7 by JamesChevalier and they’ll return as I process the data to correct things.
You don’t need to mark anything as manually complete. I’m unsure, offhand, if doing so will affect the reprocessing I’m doing
so I’d definitely suggest that you don’t mark any more streets as complete. Depending on how many you marked, I might suggest you unmark them
I’m pretty sure city syncs include a step that “corrects” this - effectively toggling them off ‘manual’ and properly associating the activity that completed the street.
Manually marking streets should behave exactly like when GPS completes them. It’s possible that there can be some delays while all the stats are calculated, though.
