Added a bunch of Kentucky areas to the [tracker](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1F9eB2cteelcdHXMTmMuXg4dIp_lkHWopKajzhJnhCpw/edit?gid=1748849968#gid=1748849968) a few months ago. Looking for a review on if I did it correctly and if there would be an ETA for implementation into CityStrides.

Not a rush, but would like to have them added before end of year. Looking to fill in a large section of my personal heat map (_everything on the inner loop of i-275_) and _some_ of these KY towns will be a part of the area eventually traversed.

Thanks.

I’ve moved your post into its own thread, because this is a new topic.

You added a number of places in Kentucky to the [missing city doc](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1F9eB2cteelcdHXMTmMuXg4dIp_lkHWopKajzhJnhCpw/edit?gid=1748849968#gid=1748849968) (scroll to bottom of the ‘Cities missing/broken in OSM’ sheet) … but these places are not mapped in OpenStreetMap - they’re only present in there as Nodes (not Relation or Way), so they’re unusable for CityStrides.

We’ll need people much more capable at OSM editing to help create those city boundaries.

I’ve lived in this region of the U.S. my entire life so this post caught my attention. I scanned the document for the Kentucky entries. I noticed most of them (all?) are unincorporated places. Unfortunately, by the very nature of being unincorporated, they will not have official boundaries that can be mapped in OpenStreetMap.

@steven.mcmillian In Ohio, the unincorporated areas of each county are divided into townships, and I’ve noticed these appears in CityStrides as “cities”. How do the completed streets in the unincorporated areas of Kentucky appear in CityStrides? I’ve only run in the larger cities of Louisville, Covington, Newport, etc.

Hi @glenn.j.ward , I’m not really sure.
I’ll eventually get out there and run those sections and see if that somehow triggers them to show up as streets here on CityStrides, but I’m not that optimistic on it at the moment since no nodes are showing up in those areas when I zoom in on the map.

@steven.mcmillian I want to correct what I said in a previous post. It looks like some unincorporated areas can indeed have designated boundaries. I learned that Census Designated Places do have boundaries that can be put on a map. From what I understand, they are statistical boundaries and not legal boundaries. I don’t know if the places you mentioned are CDPs, but maybe they are? I’m new to OSM, and looking for ways to contribute, but adding any such data for the places you mentioned is out of my depth. I need to stick to simple changes for now. 🙂
